The Georgia Amateur Soccer Association in conjunction with the Jekyll Island Authority are proud to announce the inaugural Gold Cup, a recreational tournament for adult full-sided soccer.

The tournament will be held Labor Day weekend (September 2nd, 3rd & 4th) 2006 at the immaculate Golden Isles Soccer Complex on Jekyll Island.

Teams can enter as Recreational, Open or Veteran in Women's, Men's and Co-ed divisions of play. All teams can expect a minimum of three games, with the first game early Saturday morning, the second game Saturday afternoon and the third early Sunday morning.

If a semi-final is required it will be played Sunday afternoon.

All finals will be played on Monday (Labor Day).

The tournament entry deadline is August 1.

TEAM ROSTER: Rosters are limited to 18 players per team. Participating teams may have up to six (registered) guest players who are not on their State roster.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all registered USASA teams.

PLAYING FORMAT: Three (3) matches are guaranteed.

• All round-robin and semi-final matches will be 70 minutes long.
• Finals will be 90 minutes long.
• The round-robin format of play will use the 10-point-maximum system (6 for win, 3 for a tie, 1 for each goal up to three and 1 for a shutout) to determine which teams progress through to the Finals.
